S3 PRACTICAL PERFORMANCE AND ANALYSIS ELECTIVE.
THE COURSE
PE Performance and Analysis - (In 2 single periods of 55 minutes) 3 areas – Practical Performance, KU and Performance Analysis: Performance Analysis – Basic evaluation of self and peers through observation schedules, PAR grids, video etc. KU and Performance Analysis assessment TBC. 5 Activities taught through a one year course.Basketball, Football, Hockey,Gymnastics and Tennis. Aspects of Fitness, e.g. methods of training and testing will be a theme running throughout each of the practical activities. Basketball – Taught through the game mostly. Basic structures and strategies covered, principles of play and Mental Fitness too. Powe ris the main aspect of Physical Fitness investigated. Football – Main fitness investigation through this block (very basic POB). Two main areas of Physical Fitness will be CRE and Speed as well as some Skill Related Aspects of Fitness (this will be the longest block to cater for the investigation process. Hockey – Mainly focusing on Skills and Techniques. Also elements of Skill Related Fitness, small sided games, adaptation etc. MuscularEndurance main Aspect of Physical Fitness (perhaps through Skills Fitness Circuit. Gymnastics – Main activity for the Analysis of performance (basic PAR worksheets, video. Skill learning, feedback, body structure. Two main areas of Physical Fitness will be Flexibility and Strength. Tennis – Big emphasis on Skills and Techniques and skill learning. Also an area of Skill Related Fitness covered. Knowledge and Understanding and Performance Analysis will run through each activity. These will be taught through the Practical Performance. |
