CHARITY CHALLENGE 2013
LET'S MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND HELP BEAT CANCER!!!
A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART AND RAISED MONEY FOR CANCER.
Saturday the 29th May was a great success for both Charity events, even if the weather decided not to play nice.
The boys 10,000 challenge was closely fought between the 10 teams taking part with some great teamwork and innitative shown by all to complete the different physical and mental challeneges set out around the school.
In the end it was TEAM 5 - that won the overall title.
The Race for Life event saw the JGS girls turn all pink for the afternoon with pink hair, T-shirts and onesies out in force to support the charity race. After a fun dance warm up the girls were on their way running a 5km circuit of Jedburgh, which was in the end won by Shauna Murdie, followed closely by Becky Murdie and

On the 29th May Jedburgh Grammar School will be holding 2 unique charity challenges
to raise money for 2 worthwhile causes.
It's a battle of the sexes as the Boys and Girls go Head to Head
to try and raise the most sponsorship for their chosen charity leading up to the Big Event on the 29th May

THE BOYSWill be raising money for PROSTATE CANCER UK - by competeing in a 10,000 challenge. This involves teams completeing 10 challeneges that can each earn them 1000 points. The team that get closest to collecting 10,000 points will be the winners.
WHY THE 10,000 CHALLENGE? * 10,000 represents the number of men that die from prostate cancer every year in the UK. •Over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year - that's more than 100 men diagnosed every day. •It's estimated that by 2030, prostate cancer will be the most common cancer. •Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
