JGS GO TO MURRAYFIELD TO WATCH SOUTH AFRICA VS SCOTLAND.
It was a weekend off from rugby fixtures this week and 43 boys from JGS headed up the road to the home of scottish rugby to watch Scotland take on the might of the South Africans.
We got off to a winning start to the day as Stephen Smith was selected out of the crowd to take on another pupil from another school in a test of knowledge. Stephen went first and was asked to name the schools that some of the players in the scottish squad went to. He got lucky with a few of the questions including a few local boys Ross Ford (Kelso HS), Kelly Brown (Earlston HS) and Greg Laidlaw (Jedburgh Grammar school - Obviously). Stephen managed to get 5 out of 5 and his challenger could only get 2 correct, so Stephen won 10 tickets to the 6 nations Scotland vs Italy game. Well Done!!
Unfortunately the winning didn't continue for Scotland, although a strong performance from the scottish pack.
A great day out to experience the atmosphere of Murrayfiled!!

Personal Coaching Session from Edinburgh and Scotland Stars.
Edinburgh and Scotland players Greg Laidlaw and Ross Ford recently paid a visit to Jed - Forest RFC to deliver a coaching session and also give boys from JGS the chance to ask them a few questions on the highs and lows of being professional rugby player.
It was great to get an insight into the day to day life of a professional player with both Ross and Greg being open to any question thrown at them from training sessions, injuries, nutrition and personal career highlights.
